Seems that we don't always remember that not everyone enjoys coding web pages and reading programming language books for amusement like we do ;-) Below is a small list of a few terms we're likely to toss around:

CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
CSS files are used by Berson3 to alter the appearance of your web site. If your web site was a house, then all of your appearance choices (siding, flooring, shutters, etc.) would be determined by your home's CSS file. In keeping the appearance data separate from the structure of the site, alterations to your site's layout and feel are much simpler, quicker, and effective. After all, when you want to change the color of the walls in a room, you don't have to alter the drywall and studs beneath the coat of paint.
HTML (Hypertext Markup Language)
Simplest explanation: this is the language that is used to define where the studs and other support items go in the "house" that is your web site. Think: CSS = appearance, HTML = structure
PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor)
PHP is a language that is used to help make your web site dynamic (dynamic implies that things will change from one page viewing to another). Not every page on your site will be exactly the same each time somebody views it. When you add PHP to HTML (HTML is a static language meaning it can only do what it's told -- it can not change or "think" on it's own) you can create a beautiful and information driven site/page that is interactive for your viewers.
